Having been told of quite a few Plaice coming form Cogden and West Bexington, I thought I would give it a go. I stopped of at Chesil Bait n Tackle in Weymouth to pick up some rag and lug worm.

When I arrived at the car park i could see about a dozen anglers either side of the car park. I chatted to a few but it was the same story, no one hadncaught anything except one couple and they had been there for 2 days. Even they had nothing that morning.

I moved to the left of the car park looking for a nice clay patch on the beach and set up two rods. One with an up and over baited with big Ragworm to try and target the Plaice at distance. The other was a 2 hook flapper close in with rag and lug to tempt a Dab or Rockling.

In a nutshell myself and everyone I talked to along the whole length of the beach blanked. I put it down to the small tides. If you were thinking about a trip down there this weekend then I suggest you might want to think again.
