In search of the elusive February Bass
Fishing for Bass at Portland Bill
Undoubtedly February is one of the most difficult months of the year to catch a Bass, but that was exactly what I was after on Sunday. I tried a number of my favourite marks including Portland Bill.
I lost count of the different lures that I tried. Even my favourite Zonk 120 only managed one catch and that was me. I made the mistake of trying to pull it back out with the pliers, but that just hurt too much. I ended up cutting it off at the top of the shank then pushing it all the way through. Didn’t stop me continuing on with the fishing. Unfortunately all I can report is I am still looking for that February Bass.
